Topic Research- West African Stories
I have decided to pursue West African stories, as I realized they are just as fun to pursue as Aesop's Fables, and they too also have interesting meanings at the end of the stories.
The first story I chose, Anansi and Nothing, I thought was so interesting, mainly because the story ended in such a way that I did not expect. I read that the Anansi stories were wicked and twisted, but now I see that evil, harm, and death are common topics in the stories.
The second story, The Moon and Stars, I thought was such a sweet story. I am very much into tales about how the elements of our world today came to be.
The third and final story that I enjoyed was Why Tigers Never Attack Men Unless They Are Provoked. This was a very meaningful story to me, and a story about companionship, and seeing others for who they are on the inside, not the outside.
